Records, Bills, and Questions—Oh My!

Pregnancy is a journey filled with joy and challenges. While preparing for the arrival of my little one, the last thing I wanted to worry about was the maze of medical records and bills that followed. It was a whirlwind experience and Health Bank One™ was a game-changer for me.
The Birth Experience
During my pregnancy and childbirth, I interacted with many different healthcare professionals:
Blood testing specialists
Anesthesiologists
Pediatricians
Surgeons for my C-section
Lactation consultants
I assumed that all my medical records and bills were handled by the hospital. But, I quickly learned that wasn’t the case.
Medical Records: The Unexpected Journey
When I ordered my medical records, I expected a comprehensive list of all my treatments and tests. Instead, I only received the records of my treatments. Missing were the lab results and tests conducted by external entities like Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Quest Diagnostics, and US Anesthesia Partners. I was unaware that these tests were outsourced until I started receiving bills from these entities. Why wasn’t this communicated to me? While it was business as usual for the hospital, it felt like a hidden aspect of my healthcare experience.
The Avalanche of Bills
After the hospital bill, I was bombarded with 15-20 additional bills from various organizations affiliated with the hospital. Keeping track of these paper bills was overwhelming. How was I supposed to know what had been paid and what hadn’t? The disorganization was frustrating.
My Personal Experience with Health Bank One
One night, I started freaking out about my blood pressure and how high it was, and I was getting all sorts of crazy answers on Google. I told my husband what Google was saying and his first response was, "Why aren't you using Care Guide™?" I thought to myself, “Why am I not using Care Guide? Haha! I quickly logged into my Health Bank One app and the answers Care Guide gave me were realistic and actually helpful.
Every question I had going forward, whether it was related to my health or questions leading up to labor, I made sure to ask Care Guide. It also gave me amazing questions to ask my doctor about the labor process and what to expect leading up to and during recovery. It was such a relief to not have every symptom or outcome be something terrible!
For me, the Solution was Health Bank One
Imagine an app that consolidates all your medical bills and records in one place. Health Bank One does just that. It allows me to:
View all procedures and records in one portal instead of remembering multiple portal logins and passwords.
Ask questions about my procedures, aftercare, and what to expect.
Enables me to track what I owe and what the bills are for by consolidating my billing records.
Health Bank One was incredibly helpful and reassuring for me. It simplified the process of managing medical records and bills, making it easier to focus on what truly matters—caring for my new baby girl.
Medical records, bills, and asking questions of healthcare providers should be straightforward. Until that becomes the norm, Health Bank One is here to help.
